E.W. Scott Dickieson, Q.C.

Education

Scott graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1985 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1988 with a Bachelor of Laws Degree and was admitted to the Bar of Prince Edward Island in March, 1989.

Practice

Scott has had a wide variety of legal experience including real estate and mortgages, commercial transactions, wills & estates and civil litigation including family law, employment law, debt repayment and personal injury. He is currently a Sessional Lecturer at the U.P.E.I. School of Business teaching Business Law. Scott received his Queen’s Counsel designation in January, 2010.

Community Involvement

Scott is active in many community organizations and in the Law Society of Prince Edward Island. He has served as the President of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island. He has served as a director of the following organizations: Theatre PEI, The Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts, The Fathers of Confederation Centre Trust, The Friends of Confederation Centre, The Community Legal Information Association of PEI, Artsatlantic Magazine, LM Montgomery Land Trust, PEI Citizen’s Advocacy, The PEI Arthritis Society and The Montgomery Theatre.

Interests

Scott enjoys playing the piano and competing in the sport of Triathlon. Scott has successfully completed 6 ironman triathlons: 2 in Lake Placid, NY, in 2007 and 2008; Ironman Canada in 2009 and Ironman Mont Tremblant in 2012 and 2014. Scott also competed in the World ITU Olympic age group championships in Beijing, China in September,2011.

Awards

Scott was inducted into the “Bertha Wilson Honour Society” by the Dalhousie Law Alumni Association in 2014 in recognition of outstanding contribution to the Legal Profession.  Scott received the “Distinguished Community Service Award” from the Law Society of Prince Edward Island in 2015.
